BHOPAL: Yielding to the demand of its passengers, national carrier Air India has decided not to charge cancellation fee from its passengers from May 1.
The facility has been extended to passengers whose flight departure is after seven days from the booking date.
Air India spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar told that under the new policy of the Union government, the passengers of domestic circuit can avail the option of either cancelling or amending their tickets without any additional charge for flights booked for departure after seven days from the date of booking.
He added that if the passenger wishes to cancel his ticket after 24 hours of booking, the option of availing free cancellation and amending the ticket is not applicable. "The option to change or cancel the ticket can be availed manually through Air India channels, ATO, CTO and call centre," said the spokesperson.
